Saturday May 4th

Great fishing today with lots of nice Bluefish to start and world class sight casting to Cobia later in the day. Great fishing great weather and great people!

Spring Fishing Picking up

Spring fishing is picking up. The last few trips we have had great action with chunky Bluefish on light tackle plus our first Spanish Mackerel of the year. We have also been catching Trout Stripers and a few small Flounder in the sound. There have been reports of some early Cobia in range of the inlet and the season opens tomorrow! Warm weather the rest of the week should push them north and improve the overall fishing for everything. Looking forward to some great May fishing!

Easter Week Fishing Report

Fishing over The past week has been steadily improving. Speckled Trout Striped Bass and Flounder have been providing some action for our anglers. Reports from the south of us indicate that Bluefish Red Drum Mackerel and Cobia are heading this way.

Speckled Trout are Showing Up!

The Trout are showing up along with some Striped Bass Flounder and Red Drum

Brand New Motor for2019

The Sneaky has a brand new 200 Horsepower 4 stroke Yamaha outboard for the upcoming season. 50 more Horsepower will give us a faster cruising speed for more fishing time. We also installed a new Atlas Jack Plate that will allow us to navigate in shallower water for flats fishing and improve the overall ride and performance. The wiring has been re done as well and new batteries should improve the dependability of all electronics systems.

June 22nd

Good chumming action today. We had steady bites from Hammerheads, Sharpnose, small Kings, Moonfish, Ribbonfish and one big Smooth Pufferfish. We released everything except for a few Moons and Ribbons for dinner. Fun day with a great group of guys!

June 21st

Keith got a fathers day present from the family, a morning trip on the Sneaky. He wanted to bring them some fresh fish for dinner so we went after Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. Started out slow but around 8:30 they started feeding and we had great action until we had enough. After that we went deeper and tried chumming but didn’t have much action on the bag. His beautiful daughter Angel was waiting for us at the dock and made the picture a lot prettier!

June 19th

Today Mike booked a solo trip and to be honest we could have used a few more hands. As soon as we set out the chum we had non stop action with huge Spinner Sharks Hammers Moonfish Bluefish and one small Cobia. Mike fought the biggest Spinner I’ve ever seen for almost an hour. We couldn’t get our baits back very far before getting bit so we had lots of spectacular jumps close to the boat. After Mike finally landed the big one we took a break and just watched them swim around the boat. Great job Mike and thanks for coming back to fish with me again!

June 18th

Fishing in the sound was tough today. My group really wanted to target Flounder and Drum but with very little tide we only managed throwback Flounder. We did manage one nice Red Drum at our 3rd spot we tried for them. Thanks for fishing hard on a slow day guys!

June17th

Today George and Rye fished with me again and this time we decided to try to get Rye something big. We had great action with Spinner Sharks that put on a great show with some spectacular jumps. Rye has caught Trout Flounder and Stripers with me before but he did a great job fighting these bruisers. Fly got to come along and he had fun too. Thanks guys, a pleasure as always!

June 16th

This morning we started off chumming and had some action with Sharpnose Sharks. After a while we headed back in the sound and caught a few Stripers before heading in. This afternoon we started off trolling for Spanish mackerel but it was slow so we put out the chum bag and got a small Cobia. Ended the day trying for a Drum but didn’t get a bite. So many boats on the water today it was hard to find a place to fish. Beautiful weather and 2 really fun groups!

June 15th

This morning Paul and his crew landed on a school of Red Drum right off the bat. We had some good light tackle action until they started getting a bit spooky then we went to look for some Trout. No Trout bites but we did catch Stripers and 2 keeper Flounders up to 18 inches. This afternoon Nick and his family wanted to go Shark fishing but it got a little too choppy for little Nicholas so we stayed in the sound where Nicholas caught all kinds of bottom critters. Nick caught a 20 inch Flounder and we ended the day with a double header of 30 inch Drum but one got away right at the boat. Fun day!

June 14th

Tough fishing today. This morning we started off catching a few Bluefish. It was a slow pick so we put out the chum and only caught one Sharpnose Shark. This afternoon we started off dodging storms and rain. Once the weather cleared we had slick calm conditions but no tide. We searched hard and finally found a nice school of upper slot Red Drum. Slow fishing but two great groups of guys!

June13th

This morning we started off looking for Red Drum on the flats we saw a few schools pushing water and when we threw in to one of them we hooked a double that turned out to be a 25 inch Drum and a 36 inch 12 pound Bluefish!. After the Drum action slowed we found some nice sized Stripers and one Flounder. This afternoon we switched gears and headed to the ocean. It started slow but we ended up catching 2 Cobias and 6 Spinner Sharks that put on quite a show. Also saw a giant Cobia that wouldn’t eat a bucktail or a live eel. Really fun day with 2 great groups!

June11th

Good Mackerel fishing first thing this morning. We caught about a dozen nice ones then headed south to try some chumming. We had good action with Spinner and Sharpnose Sharks but never raised a Cobia. Saw something finning near the boat so we threw a Gold Johnsons Spoon to it and caught a really nice Trigger fish! Never seen that before but I’ll take it!

June 8th

We didn’t see any Cobia today but LJ was ready if we had! We did have some Shark action and some trolling bites from Blues and Spanish Mackerel. The good news is some upper slot Red Drum are starting to show up in the sound. Not hot and heavy but it should get better from here.

June 6th

We started out this morning catching Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. After the bite slower we started chumming and caught Sandbar and Sharpnose Sharks then right before heading in caught a Really big Spinner. This afternoon the Shark fishing was even better with steady action with Sandbars Hammers Sharpnose and a huge Spinner Shark to end the day. Really fun day with great people and lots of action!

June 5th

Did some chumming with Bob today. We never raised a Cobia but we had some action with Spinner and Sandbar Sharks. Wind breezed up from the north so we headed back to the dock where Bob had a blast catching Rockfish in the slip. Some nice ones too! Thanks Bob that was a fun trip

June 2nd

Tough fishing today with Chad and Bud. We started off in a good spot with a few other boats and hooked a small one right off the bat. It got a bit too crowded and the fish stopped showing so we worked our way up the beach and found a few fish by ourselves. Chad got a good one on the light pole and then Bud scored a Citation Cobia to end the day. Thanks for your patience guys it paid off!

June 1st

Dave and Wendy Mason joined me today with their friends from Richmond. We had steady action most of the day sight casting to Cobia, Lots of small ones again today but a few nice fish in the mix. Dave was hooking them left and right. Thanks for a really fun day guys!

May31st

Beautiful day on the water with John and Randy. We started off chumming and had some Shark action with Hammers Sandbars and one huge Spinner that bit us off. We made a move and found some Cobia but they were much smaller than what we’ve seen recently. Had a few bigger fish refuse to eat anything including live Eels but plenty of action to finish off the day including a small Cobia on a Trout rod. Thanks for coming back to fish on the Sneaky guys!

May 30th

Good fishing today with Chris and Bill. Lots of fish waking on top early on. Thanks for fishing on the Sneaky again guys!

May 27th

Shane and Jane fished with me today in some tough conditions. Windy and cloudy with 56 degree cold water where we had 71. We searched around a bit and found some warmer water and found the Cobia popping up steady. Great light tackle sight fishing action even though they were hard to see with all the clouds. Thanks for a fun trip Shane, pleasure fishing with you two!

May 24th

Two half day trips today. This morning was tough with dirty water everywhere in range. We had some action but mostly small fish. This afternoon we decided to stay closer to home and it paid off with steady action including our biggest fish of the tear so far at 72 pounds! Thanks for a fun day guys!

May 22nd

Cobia fishing is still going strong. Today Vaughan and his father Irving had plenty of action with some nice fish in the mix. Finally getting some better weather and the rest of the week looks great if anyone wants to try for these hard fighting fish while they are still here. Still have a couple open spots, Thanks for a fun day guys!

May 18th

Ashley Fly and I tried for Cobia today in some very tough conditions. Hard to see them with all the clouds and rain but we scrapped it out and had lots of fun. Plenty of fish out there we just need some clear skies so we can see them a little better.

May 16th

Good Cobia action again today. Chris and Hailie braved some tough conditions but it paid off. Lots of fish showing with plenty of sight casting opportunities. Average size was much better today and we saw a couple whoppers that we didn’t get a shot at. Thanks guys!

May 15th

Great Cobia fishing today on morning and afternoon trips. Mostly small fish but a good amount of keepers up to 42 inches mixed in. Released a bunch and kept a few for the table. Morning bite was the best with several packs of 15-20 fish swarming the boat a few times. So many fish around it was hard to get good pictures without seeing more to throw to. Really fun day!

May 10th

Cobia are starting to show up just south of us so it shouldn’t be long til they are in range. Late May and early June is usually some of our best fishing for them. Give me a call if you are interested in trying for one. Still have some prime dates available.

April 27th

Today Stephanie Allie and Scott braved the bad forecast and were rewarded with a beautiful day. Things started off slow but we found a nice school of small rockfish while waiting on the tide to ebb. Once conditions got right we found a few nice blues but they weren’t very aggressive. Towards the end of the trip we found a school of slot sized Red Drum and got our limit of 24 to 27 inch keepers and released a few more casting light tackle. Great day with one of my favorite groups!
